Our Potluck BBQ Pictures

I am a crawling girl.....well almost!
I have had 5 haircuts so far!
Miss Amanda's bracelet was the best toy!
I have 1.5 teeth!
I do a tri-pod everytime I get ready to crawl.
Too many things going on!
Seriously Aunt Nancy, you are BLINDING me!

A quick update on Miss Dylan. She turned 7 months last week! Wohoo!!! The next day her first tooth broke through. We didn't even know she had one until she bit Dad's finger! We are almost fully crawling. Right now it is ALOT of rocking. She is 14.5 lbs now. Still petite but she is hitting all of the developmental milestones early. The doctors are a little concerned with the volume that she is taking in. We are at about 1500 calories a day, which is about 250/kcal.kg.d. Which means she is eating for more than 2 babies, but gaining for less than one. They just can't quite figure it out. Casey and I went it to Monday's Dr. appt so excited. Dylan has been doing great since the Kidney scare in April. We thought the doctors would let us get off of the $296 a can formula and on to something different. We were told minimum of 3 more months on it. And the rest of the news wasn't as great as we were hoping for. They want us to go back to UCSF to meet with the surgeons to see if removing a section on her intestines is necessary. I don't think it is. But I would much rather have UCSF tell us that, than the docs here tell us she needs it and cut her open when we had other options. So in the meantime we are bringing stool samples to the GI office for fecal fat and reducing substances. Right now they are just doing qualitative tests, when I think they should be doing quantitative tests, but maybe soon they will realize it. Her body just doesn't do the same thing twice, so it is nice to at least have a trend to follow. We are also trying to figure out if we need to treat for overgrowth of bacteria again. She is so tiny, and has already has too many antibiotics as it is. So we are trying to figure out if she is old enough to so a breath test that will tell us is overgrowth is occurring. Probiotics have also come up again in discussions. With most babies, I would say go for it. But there are cases of infants with weak intestinal lining and then probiotics (good bacteria) get into the childs blood stream, mainly Lactobacillus GG . And bacteria in your blood stream is NO good. So I am not willing to take that risk, since we obviously do not know what is going on with her intestines. Things are going really well though. She is just an AMAZING little girl. She puts a smile on everyones face. I could have never asked for a more amazing miracle. She just keeps going and making strides. We are so blessed. Thank you for the continued prayers.
